One of my twin boys is developmentally behind. And every mile stone is a gift for our family. Corbin is 2 years old and he loves to play with his twin Jaden, But not long ago Corbin didn't have any mobility he just layed there and watched his twin run around and play. We felt so bad for him and encouraged him every waking moment. Recently with the help and support of his therapist that come to the house he is now standing and cruising along furniture ,but this only happened a few months ago i was so proud of him. This Christmas I do want one thing ...For him to walk. Even though he does not talk or feed himself just to see him independently more around chasing his brother will make me think he WILL catch up and be right where his twin is.Our therapists come right to the house 3xs a week for 30 mins. each so my days are really busy with people coming in . still i find time to do projects and other things to keep them occupied. I don't mind that we are so busy it makes me smile every time he does something on his own which he was never able to do before and he knows that Independence is only arms length . So if you have a special needs child don't hesitate to get him Early Intervention it only makes HIM/HER stronger and more independent, it does not LABEL your child it ENABLES them.

Hello Melissa,
I wanted to stop by to Thank you for following our Believe Achieve blog. I really look forward to getting to know you and your family.
This post brought back some memories of our Miracle Mia, born medically fragile, which led to developmental delays. Each little step was a Miracle. We, too, still have a few challenges to overcome, but it's HOPE and Unconditional Love that makes all the difference.
We agree that early intervention is crucial for parents and children. Our Mia and your Corbin are proof of how beneficial its been. Our ABC Local NEWS featured a segment of the importance of Early Intervention and featured our Mia's story! Our Kiddos will have a story to tell when they grow older that will Inspire many Hearts!
Many Blessings....
